Terms
Last updated 31 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Pottle. By using Pottle, or by choosing Continue when you connect a supermarket account, you agree to them and to our privacy statement.
What Pottle does
You authorise Pottle to act on your behalf, as your agent, to add items to your trolley at the supermarkets you connect, and, when you ask, to reserve a delivery or pickup time. A reserved time is a hold only. It is reversible and nothing is paid.
We never pay
Pottle never checks out, never pays, and never places an order. You review your trolley and pay on the supermarket's own site, every time.
Your account
You confirm the supermarket account you connect is your own and that you are allowed to use it. Check your trolley before you pay. Prices, specials, and availability belong to the supermarket and can change between adding and paying.
Your household
Pottle trolleys can be shared. When you invite someone to your household, they can see and change the shared trolley and shopping list, so only invite people you trust. The supermarket login stays with the person who connected it. Anyone can leave a household, or start their own, at any time.
Logging in
You enter your supermarket email and password once on our secure connect page. They pass through Pottle over an encrypted connection and Pottle types them into the supermarket's login in a hosted browser. We never store your password. How we handle your information is covered in our privacy statement.
Logging out and closing your account
You can log out of a supermarket at any time, which deletes that stored connection and stops logged in features for it. You can also close your Pottle account entirely, which permanently deletes your connections, your saved list, and your history.
Fair use
Use Pottle for your own household's shopping. Do not use it to interfere with the supermarkets or with Pottle, to access an account that is not yours to use, or to resell the service. We can suspend access that breaks these terms.
As is
Pottle is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other New Zealand consumer law.
The supermarkets
The supermarkets are not us. We are not responsible for their websites, their prices, their stock, product substitutions, or delivery. Prices and availability can change, so confirm them at the store's checkout.
Not affiliated
Pottle is not affiliated with or endorsed by Woolworths, New World or Pak'nSave. Their names and brands are their own. We name them only so you know which stores Pottle can shop at for you.
Free during the pilot
Pottle is free while we are in the pilot. If that changes, we will tell you first.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version will always be here, and if a change matters we will let you know before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
